About Pyaten

The people behind Pyaten, how each article about digital leisure and gaming is put together, and what we will not publish.

Start here

Pyaten publishes when there is something to publish. There is no schedule and no filler, and every piece stays in the archive even after we have changed our minds about it.

Pyaten began because the straight answers about digital leisure and gaming were scattered across forum threads, comment sections, and messages nobody archived. We decided to write them down properly instead.

The people

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and every name links to a page listing everything else they have written.

Owen Tully, Games and digital entertainment writer. Owen Tully grew up in arcades and brought that curiosity to writing about why online games hold attention the way they do. He has covered game design, player communities, and digital entertainment for over a decade, always asking what makes people come back for one more session.

Fiona Marsh, Streaming and lifestyle writer. Fiona Marsh left journalism for blogging when she realized she spent more time recommending shows than covering politics. She writes about streaming platforms, viewing habits, and the quieter parts of digital life that rarely get a proper column.

Kenji Adachi, Hobbies and wellbeing writer. Kenji Adachi is a former product designer who trades client briefs for personal craft projects on weekends. He writes about creative hobbies, rest, and the practical side of protecting time that belongs entirely to you.

How an article gets made

The method is dull and it works. Explain what happens, explain what it costs, explain what can go wrong, then stop writing.

We are not neutral about quality, but we are honest about incentives. Where money is involved, the page says so.

If you want the mechanics rather than the summary, the editorial policy has them, including what we refuse to publish.

Where the articles sit

  • Games. Video games, online gaming, and digital entertainment guides for every kind of player.
  • Streaming and Video. Platform picks, watchlist strategies, and honest thoughts on how streaming changed viewing habits.
  • Creative Hobbies. Making, crafting, and personal project ideas that fit around a full schedule.
  • Wellbeing and Rest. Recovery, downtime, sleep, and why protecting your energy is not optional.
  • Digital Life. Tools, habits, and screen-time choices that shape how you actually live online.

Articles are filed under one topic each, so an archive page reads as a list rather than a pile. Most of the traffic here lands on games, streaming and video and creative hobbies.

Who pays for this

The site pays for itself through a small number of outbound links. It has never been enough to change what gets written, and the day it is, we will say so here.

The limits of this site

What we do not do is predict outcomes. Nothing about digital leisure and gaming works that way, and pages that pretend otherwise are selling something.

Fixing mistakes

Tell us which line is wrong and why, at [email protected] or through the contact page. Small errors are corrected the same week. Anything that changes the advice gets a dated note at the bottom of the article.
